Questions About Windows 8?

Hi, all.

Currently, I have two laptops, both running Windows 7 home premium. I have a Mac, which is my main computer, running through Boot Camp with Windows 7 and a Lenovo running Windows 7. My questions are as follows:

1. Do you know if Windows 8 can be installed on an Apple MacBook Pro through Bootcamp? If so, how?
2. Which Windows edition should I get? For example, Windows 8.1 or Windows 8?
3. Is it possible for a blind person to install Windows 8? I assume that I will need the upgrade version and ot the full, since I already have Windows 7?
4. What are some compelling reasons to upgrade to Windows 8? What are some new features besides touch screen support, as I do not have one of those?
4. I will probably upgrade my backup computer, as it was hard enough trying to install Windows 7 on my Mac.
Thanks for any help in advance. I just saw a discount on our IT page, where you can get Windows 8 for $62. I guess this would be a setup file of some sort with a product key?

hi,

I upgraded from 7 ultamet to windows 8 when it first came out. You can do it and use your screen reader to answer most of the questions before it starts. Then once all the rebooting is done you can start narrator to finish. It will remove anything it sees as not working with win 8. I no jfw 13 was removed and 14 was kind of broken. but it can be done. I would get 8.1 however so you don't have to do the upgrade to 8.1 later.

So, if I purchase Windows 8.1, I can upgrade from Win 7 to this version, right? My screen reader should read most information, and then I can use narrator when finished?

If you are talking your Windows PC's 8.1 is what you want.
Reasons why over 7 aren't that much. Other then keeping up and current, for a blind person I don't really know what I'd say that would be an advantage
I was not able to make narrator work, but could do the install just about completely until after the reboot. Good for the poster that could. Maybe post how you got it going, that would help.
After that only a couple questions were required, and a visitor did that for me.
You have to buy 8.1 upgrade version. .
